So, yeah, there’s this game called Mafia: The Old Country. Just got a release date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Cool, right? But what really got my attention was the price tag. It’s launching on August 8 for $49.99. I mean, in this economy? And there’s a Deluxe Edition for $59.99. Can’t say I’m not tempted.
Mafia: The Old Country—Fancy Name, Flashy Trailer
They dropped a trailer, kept it short and sweet, but oh man, it looks good. Like, REALLY good. There’s also this detailed video with developer insights or something. Some folks dig that; me, I sometimes just fast-forward to the juicy bits. Not proud of it, but there it is.
Hangar 13, the team behind this, seems to be back with a vengeance—no more open-world drama like in Mafia 3. Loved the game, don’t get me wrong, but that whole open-world thing felt like trying to find your way out of a spaghetti maze. This time around? They’re going linear. Quality storytelling? Authentic era vibes? That’s the buzz anyway.
Summer 2025’s Gem (Maybe?)
I’m thinking Mafia: The Old Country could be a summer hit. But hey, what do I know?
Deluxe Edition goodies? There’s a pile of them:
- Padrino Pack: Guns, a limo, fancy clothes. You know, the usual.
- Gatto Nero Pack: More guns, race cars, and stuff for speed enthusiasts.
And let’s not forget the soundtrack and a digital artbook. Pre-orders get an extra Soldato Pack. Do these names make me sound cooler when I say them out loud? Probably not.
Pre-orders are already up on the PS Store, just so you know.
