Fellow Traveller and Paper Castle just dropped a bomb about their game Wander Stars. Turns out, the JRPG’s hitting the Nintendo Switch later than folks thought. Surprise, surprise.
“Hey, everyone! So, we’ve got some news. Wander Stars ain’t dropping as soon as expected,” the devs casually mentioned the other day. Not sure about you, but I wasn’t even holding my breath. A delay? Shocking. Or maybe not.
First off, shoutout to everyone who jumped into the open beta. They said they’re thankful for all the feedback. And aren’t we all full of feedback these days? Anyway, the gist is they’re taking more time because the UI? Kinda a dumpster fire. Combat has more bugs than a summer night, and supposedly, everything gets bonkers hard from episode 2. Fun times, right?
So, thanks to everyone pointing this stuff out, they’re doing some serious retooling. I can only imagine the coffee-fueled nights leading up to that earlier deadline. Now, they’re saying this extra time isn’t just for fixing stuff but for staying sane too. Gotta respect that.
And here’s the kicker—Wander Stars is now set to launch on September 19. Yeah, that date means something. Seven years to the day since Underhero came out. Talk about full circle. Or was it a square? Anyway.
Kudos to those patient enough to hang in there. The devs promise it’s gonna be worth every tick of the clock. Fingers crossed, I guess?
In this “kinda unique” adventure, we’ve got martial artist Ringo and sneaky dude Wolfe on this epic quest across galaxies. Imagine Cowboy Bebop meets Dragon Ball Z, with a touch of One Piece. Sounds chaotic, but in a good way. They’re in it for the Wanderstar map pieces, wrapped up in wild episodes full of mysteries and surprises. Maybe a twist or two—I mean, it’s based on anime vibes, duh.
Combat’s a trip, too. Kiai style or something, mixing words into attacks. Over 200 words, apparently. Feels like a Scrabble match on steroids. Anyway—wait, what was I saying? Oh, yeah!
Mark your calendars because Wander Stars launches on the Nintendo eShop, August 1, 2025. Go figure, they’re making us all wait. Classic.
Oh, and there’s a trailer out there somewhere. Not that I’ve actually watched it yet. Just… I don’t know, waiting for the right mood or something.
