Spike Chunsoft’s big news: they’re throwing Shuten Order at us, and it’s dropping as a digital exclusive for Nintendo Switch all over Europe and North America. Yep, that’s happening.
So, EXNOA, you know, the DMM Games folks, joined hands with Tookyo Games to create this wild multi-genre adventure game. And who’s at the helm? Kazutaka Kodaka, the mind behind Danganronpa. Intriguing, right? The gameplay feels like a potluck — you’ve got stealth action horror, a visual novel — kind of like they crammed five games into one.
There’s this haunting countdown — “168 remaining until the end of the world.” Dramatic, huh? Humanity’s circling the drain. Enter Shuten Order, a bonkers religious group, wishing for our end. They’ve squished together enough followers to make a nation-state. But plot twist, their Founder bites the dust. Cue the murder mystery.
Wait for it — the Founder does a resurrection dance as Rei Shimobe, our main character, thanks to some miracle called “the Power of God.” But, oh surprise, it’s a shoddy job. Rei’s back with no memories and just four days on the clock.
Now, two so-called angels swoop in. They tell Rei they gotta crack “God’s trial.” Basically, find and off their killer in a nail-biting four-day truth scavenger hunt.
September 5, 2025. Mark the date. Shuten Order hits the Nintendo eShop for Switch. Countdown begins.
So, meet Rei Shimobe, voiced by Mitsuki Saiga. And get this: Kishiru Inugami — Daisuke Ono gives him life — he’s the Minister of Justice. This guy’s random and kinda loopy but brilliant in legal stuff. “Ghost White Arbitrator,” they call him. Got a thing for legal drugs. Like, can’t get enough.
On to Yugen Ushitora, VA-ed by Yuki Ono. This dude’s the Minister of Health, running Shuten General Hospital. He’s “Gatekeeper to the Afterlife” with mad medical chops. Seems nice, but wow, meticulous. Huge fan of his sis.
Next, Teko Ion — Ayumu Murase voices this brainiac, the Science Minister. Charisma void but genius-level IQ, designing all the tech jazz for Shuten. Dubbed the “Prodigy.”
Hop over to Honoka Kokushikan, Inori Minase gives her a voice. She runs Education, mastering info manipulation like a puppeteer. They call her the “Conjurer of Words.” Big mystery package, maybe aiming to be the next Founder. Who knows?
And then there’s Manji Fushicho, who Shizuka Ito voices. She heads Security — fiery, fierce, doesn’t vibe with heretics. Dubbed “Queen of Heretic Hunting.” Wants peace more than your grandma wants you to eat.
Oh, and angels! Meet Himeru, voiced by Aoi Yuki. This one’s jittery, pushes Rei to keep going, yet harbors a grudge against Shuten. Random, right?
And Mikotoru, Toshiyki Morikawa voices him — calm, brainy, mystery-mum. Guides Rei but dodges deep questions like they’re hot potatoes.
Anyway, buckle up. September 5, 2025. It’s gonna be a wild ride.
