Alright, so here’s the scoop — we got some dates and deets, but I’m crossing my fingers for a few surprises, ya know?
Nintendo’s been yakking about these free updates for Switch 1 games to jazz ’em up for Switch 2. They’ve finally spilled the beans. Somehow, a webpage that was yapping about the games before got all updated with the official release date — June 5, just when the Switch 2 arrives. That’s kinda convenient, huh? And yeah, they also let us in on what’s gonna be different.
So, about those updates and which games get the love:
First up, framerate boosts. Like, making things run smoother, I guess? Games like ARMS, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury are in line for this. It’s like putting your bike on wheels instead of square blocks.
Then there’s this visual fidelity mumbo-jumbo. I think they mean things will look shinier? ARMS, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and a bunch of other titles — including Zelda (both Awakening and that Echoes of Wisdom thing) — are on the list. Guess they want everything to sparkle like a disco ball.
Oh, and HDR support. I pretend to know what it means, but let’s roll with it. It’s for ARMS, Captain Toad, Bowser’s Fury specifically (not all of Super Mario 3D World, just the Fury bit — slightly confusing?), Mario Odyssey, and the Zelda gang again.
Now, GameShare is one of those things… like sharing but fancier? Big Brain Academy gets it, along with Captain Toad, some 51 Classics thing, and others. Super Mario Odyssey pops up again, that sneaky plumber.
Lastly, mouse support with Joy-Con 2 for Game Builder Garage. Not totally sure how that feels — maybe like using a fork to eat soup?
So yeah. That’s the news, but I’m kinda curious if they’ll sneak in something extra, just to keep us on our toes. ‘Cause, you know, that’s what keeps life interesting, right?
