Sure thing! Here’s my take on it:

So, GPD’s been shaking things up with their fancy new handheld console, right? They teased this AMD Strix Halo beast back in July and let it loose at that wild ChinaJoy expo in Shanghai. And, uh, people went nuts – like, creators all over China started poking around, testing it out. I stumbled on this vid by Jobs_Bao. He’s like, on the showroom floor, running Cinebench R23 and Time Spy benchmarks. Shared all the juicy deets on Bilibili.
Get this, the thing got 30,495 points on Cinebench. Apparently, that’s up there with the desktop-class Intel Core i9-13900HX. Makes me think, are desktops doomed? Oh, also, while it’s working its magic, the CPU only touched 80.3 degrees Celsius max. Meanwhile, up top, the vents were a cool 45-ish degrees. 95dB fans though, so pretty noisy. Hope y’all have good headphones.
Oh, graphics! It’s rockin’ almost the same as an RTX 4060, with 9,680 on Time Spy. But GPD’s playing this weird game with the power. They were like, “Nah, let’s cap it at 70 watts,” even though it can handle 120 watts. Radeon 8060S can’t really flex its muscles because of this, honestly. But, hey, it can still run lots of games at Ultra in 1080p. I saw PureDIY’s video playing Black Myth: Wukong on it, smooth 80 FPS. That’s wild.
Now, here’s the kicker – that battery. 5,170mAh and, weirdly, it’s not built-in. It just clips on the back. Adds some bulk, yeah, like 340 grams. But you can swap it out on the fly, which is, kinda nice for traveling? Or just chuck it if you’re using the massive 180-watt brick instead.
The Win 5 comes in two flavors. Top dog has the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with a Radeon 8060S GPU and can pack 128GB. There’s a budget one too with the Ryzen AI Max 385 and a Radeon 8050S. But no price tags yet – seriously, GPD, what’s the deal? Just tell us already!
Anyway, if you’re craving more of this hot tech goss, swing by Tom’s Hardware on Google News. Stay in the loop!
