"My user calls. May I pass?"
Okay, so Flynn might still be around, yeah? We’ll see what’s up in October. But meanwhile, here’s the scoop: Big Fan (that’s Devolver Digital’s thing) and Bithell Games say they’ve got this new isometric action game, TRON: Catalyst, out on Nintendo Switch. Kinda cool, right?
Diving into 2010’s TRON: Legacy universe, Catalyst has all these time-loop antics and some tight combat. It’s set in this really creepy, falling-apart digital world. The creator just… bailed. There’s a trailer, if you’re into visual stuff.
So, here’s the gist:
You play as Exo, a courier who’s just going about her business and, bam, package explodes. She’s suddenly got these wild powers. Now she’s dodging the Arq Grid’s so-called peacekeepers while trying to figure out what the heck just happened.
And what’s TRON: Catalyst got in store? Oh boy:
-
Time-looping Action: You get these time-rewind skills from the Glitch and learn on the go. Exo’s gotta deal with fighting sides, unlocking stuff, and figuring out the Arq Grid’s secrets. Plus, those Glitches? Totally exploiting them.
-
Classic TRON Combat: You’re facing off against enemy gangs, on foot, super agile-style. Then there’s the Light Cycle for missions, which sounds downright slick. This game’s got parrying, Disc Kicks, Data Shards – it’s a whole upgrade scene for new powers.
-
A Fresh TRON Narrative: Control Exo’s new-found abilities, find out what’s up with this “Glitch” menace, all while Conn, some nasty agent, is on your tail. Escaping’s not gonna cut it – break! the! loop!
- A World to Check Out: Expect rain-soaked alleys and powerful program encounters. Neon everywhere, just how TRON rolls. And let’s not forget the electronic jams, syncing with the vibe. Slick, right?
Rain inside a computer though? Gotta see how they justify that one.
And hey, TRON: Catalyst’s sitting in the Nintendo eShop right now for $29.99. Want more deets? Head over to bigfangames.com.
Anyway, game on!
