Alright, so here’s the deal. Saber Interactive, you know them, right? They’ve been doing this thing with simulation games – like, making them super cool for everybody, even people who didn’t care about them before. Weird, but it works. They started with Mudrunner ages ago and kept going all the way to Snowrunner and then this other one, Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game. I guess they just keep getting better at making us pretend to drive in the mud or something. Their latest is called Roadcraft or something similar – came out last month – and it’s kind of, well, strangely addictive with all these construction bits tied in. People seem to love it, and apparently, it’s one of Focus Entertainment’s biggest hits. Seriously, their parent company said so, and they should know.
Anyway, someone named Ed (not sure who Ed is, to be honest) says this game is like proof that you can make literally any boring topic into a must-play game. Like, their mechanics are so spot-on, it’s almost better than, I don’t know, battling it out in those huge RPGs. And apparently, yeah, the numbers on Steam were wild right off the bat. So many folks jumped into it, the bigwigs at Pullup Entertainment Group (the parent company or whatever) were all smiles in their earnings chat or wherever these execs high-five each other. Over 600,000 players? That’s a lot. Geoffroy Sardin, the CEO dude, said the start for Roadcraft was pretty epic. Like, one of their best ever. Bold claim, but who am I to argue?
Oh, and there was something about a YouTube video – I saw the thumbnail but didn’t really click on it. Not sure why.
So if this kind of virtual construction adventure calls to you, you might wanna wishlist it on Steam, I guess. Or if you’re into building stuff generally, check out whatever sandbox titles you can dig up. No, seriously.
Oh, and by the way, if you’re on Google News or feeling social, you can follow these gaming updates. There’s a whole Discord community too where people probably discuss this kind of stuff endlessly. Just saying.
