Portia Maye, before morphing into The Houndmaster, once led what seemed to be a promising normal life. She enjoyed oceanic adventures alongside her father, fueled by love and the call of the waves. But all changed when the sinister pirate, Mad Molak, attacked their ship, Nightsdream, leaving a trail of blood and despair.
Surviving the gruesome ordeal as the ship’s navigator, Portia was consumed by darkness and thoughts of revenge. She crafted a chilling destiny, directing the ship into Dragon’s Tooth—an action that sent her tormentors to watery graves while strangely sparing her. Portia survived yet again, marooned, with only her puppy, Snug, as a companion.
In her former life, Portia was the epitome of resilience. She endured the horror of that pirate massacre and the desolation of Dragon’s Tooth. However, her desire for vengeance kept her soul burning with rage.
Dragon’s Tooth itself was a Bleed, an extraordinary nexus where different dimensions intertwined. These Bleeds mix realities like colors on an artist’s palette, merging two worlds into one.
Lead Narrative Director Jessi Thind insightfully notes, “Entering a Bleed challenges your sanity, if it doesn’t claim your life first.”
As Portia’s mind descended into chaos, she became a master of brutality, eventually imposing justice on Molak. By then, her role in The Entity’s complex world was set.

For The Black Talon
Taurie Cain grew up entrenched in the shadowy Black Talon sect, a part of the infamous Black Vale, committed to unraveling The Entity’s mysteries. Her parents ventured into a Bleed for research, a trip that ended in catastrophe despite Taurie’s intervention.
Taurie dedicated herself to the sinister cause, climbing the ranks within Black Talon. Unlike other Survivors, Taurie’s pursuit was the embodiment of darkness, convinced that The Entity held the keys to transcending her existence.
“In her mind, her deeds serve humanity’s greater good,” Thind elaborates. “Yet, as she climbed the ranks, her world darkened until a pivotal decision defined her path.”
That crucial moment came when tasked with the ritual killing of Jordan Rois, who disrupted the Black Talon. Hesitation at the last second became a turning point as she entered The Fog.
Here, she found her faith tested against an endless cycle of torment. Yet, her steadfast belief in her purpose remained unshaken, idealizing recognition as a Killer within The Fog.
Taurie’s faith in The Vale may ultimately serve her well in The Fog, where she believes everything aligns with a grand scheme, despite the resentment and confusion of being surrounded by doubters, a state The Entity seems to thrive on.
In The Fog, Taurie adapts. Her unique abilities allow her to detach from teammates, face pain head-on, and use it to her advantage, drawing attention from the Killer when needed.
