Today marks the exciting arrival of Silent North, a new VR zombie survival game from the creators of Ghosts of Tabor, available on Quest and Steam in early access alpha. Developed by Combat Waffle Studios, known for titles like Ghosts of Tabor and GRIM, and published by Beyond Frames Entertainment, Silent North immerses players in a chilling PvPvE VR shooter experience set among the snowy Alps. As a player, you’ll face not just the fierce winter but also relentless zombie attacks and rival survivors, all while competing for the limited resources needed for survival.
Resourcefulness is key in this unforgiving environment, where managing your hunger and warmth is as crucial as scavenging through villages for supplies. There’s an opportunity for strategic cooperation too, as you can choose to form alliances with fellow players. The inclusion of a dynamic day and night cycle adds another layer of strategy; you can leverage the veil of nighttime for stealthy maneuvers or use daylight to spot threats from a distance.
This release closely follows the recent early access alpha of GRIM, a VR survival game with a sandbox style reminiscent of Rust. Co-created by Spoonfed Interactive and Combat Waffle Studios, GRIM’s premise sees players striving for survival in the chaos following failed Mars colonization attempts. Today also brings the announcement that GRIM has progressed to its beta stage, enriched by a series of updates since it first launched.
Silent North’s early access alpha version is now accessible on both Quest and Steam platforms.
