Okay, so here we are. The last week of the Nintendo Switch eShop doing its solo thing—like, seriously, here comes the Switch 2 next week, and it’s about to change everything. Think of it as the calm before the storm or just the final lap before the Switch gets a co-driver. You get it, right? This week it’s all about those old-school vibes, pre-orders, and whatever else you can think of. Let’s roll, shall we?
Now, how about this Nintendo Switch Online lineup? Four new Game Boy titles just dropped, and it’s kind of wild. There’s Survival Kids—Konami gave us this one, and it’s survival time on an island all alone. Kirby’s in there too doing his spin-off thing, and if you’re into sci-fi blasting, Gradius is your jam. It’s like a buffet of gaming nostalgia—something for everyone. Oh! And last week on the Pure Nintendo Podcast we chatted all things retro—good times.
So, with the Switch 2 launching on June 5, people are losing their minds—or is it just me? Some titles are already up for pre-order if you can’t wait. Rune Factory, Sonic X Shadows, Fast Fusion? Yeah, they’re ready to be scooped up. How about you? Planning to dive into any of these on your shiny new console?
Oh, and sales galore, folks. You might wanna snag some Dragon Quest titles—they’re pretty much on sale. I mean, between 25% and 50% off. That Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake’s sitting there looking super tempting. It’s like they want your wallet to cry, but in a good way.
Feeling lucky? Why not throw your hat in the ring with the latest Nintendo sweepstakes? There’s a Mario Kart LEGO set up for grabs. I mean, who wouldn’t want one of those? Fingers crossed, right?
There are still tons of newbies on the eShop, just waiting for you to check them out ahead of Switch 2. What’s on your playlist this week? Hit me up.
Survival Kids—I mean, picture it: A storm, a shipwreck, and bam, you’re stranded on this island. Released way back on Game Boy Color in ’99, it’s a blast from the past. You play as an explorer’s kid and your only friend is, well, you. Finding food, water, and making tools from scratch is just the beginning. It’s like “Survivor,” minus Jeff Probst.
Gradius the Interstellar Assault? Talk about odds being against you a million to one. This 1992 Game Boy classic has you shooting down doomships left and right. Those aliens don’t mess around, and your fingers won’t stop twitching—like they own the trigger. MISSILE, DOUBLE, LASER—choose wisely, you know? Can’t have it all at once! Classic.
The Sword of Hope has Prince Theo with his crazy dagger-shaped mark and epic quest to find a legendary sword. Gotta defeat the darkness and save the kingdom from the evil king. The magic commands – LOOK, OPEN, HIT – they all play their part. Just don’t go hitting everything willy-nilly—you might make someone mad.
Then there’s Kirby’s Star Stacker. Star-stacking mania with Rick, Kine, and Coo—hamster, sunfish, and owl, because why not? Stars falling from the sky, lines from below, and Kirby’s pals helping out. Just keep an eye out for King Dedede, though. He’s always up to no good.
On to pre-orders: Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, anyone? Think farming, romance, and mystical powers as you restore Azuma. It’s coming June 5, which basically feels like tomorrow.
Sonic X Shadow Generations is zooming in with classic 2D and 3D action—let’s call it chaotic nostalgia. Shadow’s got his own story, with powers that scream Ultimate Life Form. And Fast Fusion is all about racing through those mind-blowing tracks and fusing rides for unique combos.
Nintendo Music and activities? Dive in, my friends. Did I mention the My Nintendo sweepstakes? LEGO Mario Kart is calling your name. Speed into it before Sept. 3. Build, race, win!
Whoops, getting carried away. Anyway—who’s ready to game?
