Insomniac Games has made it clear how they handle fans eagerly seeking news about Marvel’s Wolverine for the PS5. The studio has emphasized that information on the game will only be shared once their team feels prepared, and no outside pressure will change that approach.
Recently, Insomniac Games addressed a bit of dissatisfaction from their community. In a comment related to the Spider-Man 2 PC port, a gamer accused the studio of “ignoring” PS5 players eager for Wolverine updates. With a hint of sarcasm, the fan remarked, “Such a great team.”
Typically, Insomniac doesn’t engage with every critical tweet, but this time their social media crew decided to step in. They replied simply, “We’ll share news about the game when we are ready to share it,” making sure to highlight the “we” part. They added, “That will always be our answer. We can’t act on everything requested when things take time, resources, and the greenlight to share them.”
Despite keeping details under wraps, Insomniac reassured everyone that Wolverine is indeed in active development.
Towards the end of 2023, the studio faced a substantial challenge when a ransomware attack led to a significant leak of Wolverine’s alpha footage. While Insomniac expressed their disappointment over this leak, they were quick to assure fans that this incident hadn’t affected the game’s progress or their plans for revealing information in the future.
Marvel’s Wolverine was first introduced to the gaming world back in September 2021. Since then, updates have been scarce, as lengthy development processes have become common in the gaming industry. It looks like we’ll need to be patient for a while longer before seeing any substantial gameplay.
