PM Studios and Pocket Trap are gearing up to drop this new game, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, on Nintendo Switch. Yeah, I know—it sounds a bit out there, doesn’t it? You’re basically a yoyo wizard.
So, you’re this character, Pippit, and apparently, the game folks are calling it “Yoyovania” (I have no idea why, but it’s catchy). It’s this 2D platformer sort of deal. Your auntie’s got some crazy business shenanigans going on. And, oh boy, there’s a soul-stealing mega-laser. That’s a thing. So, you swing your trusty yoyo to knock some sense into these four nasty crime bosses. Why a yoyo? Beats me, but it just feels right.
Every trick you nail with the yoyo shifts your whole perception—like, suddenly you’re seeing hidden corners and solving puzzles. The world’s your oyster, or maybe your yoyo—places to explore pop open like a can of soda on a hot day.
The game’s creators packed it full of stuff. They’re boasting over a thousand screens of, well, chaos and secrets to uncover. You’ll be sneaking around, cracking action puzzles, and tackling enemies in these intricate mazes the crime bosses call businesses. It’s a wild ride, they say.
And get this—you can learn all sorts of yoyo schmoves to carve your personal route through the chaos. I’d probably just get tangled, but maybe you’re better at it. You can gather badges—more than 40, if my math’s right—that change how you play. Then there are these upgrades you can snag from some sketchy loan shark. Why a loan shark? Beats me again, but it’s there.
Plus, you’ve got a mountain of other stuff to collect—over 80 things that sound shiny and life-boosting.
Mark your calendar, or, you know, don’t if you’re anything like me. But Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo hits the Nintendo eShop for Switch on May 28, 2025. That’s when this yoyo madness officially begins.
Anyway, they’ve got a trailer if you’re curious. Probably worth a watch just to see this wacky game in action.
