Eevee Grove is out, yeah, but if you’re still clutching onto those Hourglasses, maybe stash ’em away for that next expansion. Unless you’re missing a few flashy cards for your deck—trust me, even I’m missing a couple. What’s the next set gonna be? Beats me, honestly. But if you’re asking, I’d put my money on Gen 2 or Gen 3. Haven’t seen those critters in ages. And, seriously, Fighting cards need a glow-up after Triumphant Light did its thing, don’t you think?
Now don’t get me wrong, some Fighting decks are holding their ground. But it’s like—y’know?—still stuck with the good ol’ Space-Time Smackdown or Triumphant Light cards. Lucario Ex? Sure, it pops up now and then, but not enough to shake things up. Passimian Ex and Lycanroc Ex tried, but nah. If you want the real MVPs, you’re looking at Rampardos or Garchomp Ex as your go-tos.
Speaking of Rampardos, it turned heads from the get-go in Space-Time Smackdown—and with good reason! I mean, it’s got 150 HP and dishes out 130 damage with one Fighting Energy. Yeah, there’s that recoil damage, but who even cares when you’re smashing opponents left and right, right? It’s a fast card, fitting perfectly with that Fighting spirit. Though, going from a Skull Fossil? That’s a hiccup. But throw in a Rare Candy from Celestial Guardians and—boom—second turn, you’re bossing it.
And let’s not sideline Silvally here. With Extradimensional Crisis’s help, they’ve both been storming through like champs. Kind of half-Fighting, half-Normal, but it gets the job done. Wouldn’t say no to a few booster packs of Smackdown just for that, seriously. But okay, Rampardos can’t be the peak forever. There has to be something else around the corner, hopefully as dynamite.
Oh, and Garchomp Ex from Triumphant Light, huh? Still got listeners? It’s powerful for sure—with those two attacks! Pummeling the bench with Linear Attack and then the old Dragon Claw. Paired with Rampardos, it’s a proper duo. And with Lillie as a Supporter, healing becomes a breeze. Toss in Cyrus and you’ve got yourself a deck that’s as solid as, I dunno, bricks? That’s probably not right. Anyway. Here’s hoping Fighting decks get the magic they so rightfully deserve.
